Sue Shanly is a well known resident of Ward 2 having lived in Clarkson for over 25 years.

I am the proud mother of James, who is a firefighter with the City of Nanaimo, and John, who is a Pilot with Delta Airlines!

Family
Sue’s family is extremely community oriented. Sue’s husband Ernest worked in the local Briar Wood dealership and was a Rotarian for many years. Sue has 2 sons, James and John, who attended local schools commencing with Elmcrest Public School, Clarkson Public School, Greenglade Senior Public and finishing with Lorne Park High School where they excelled onto higher education. Sue is an animal lover, she has two dogs, Jaxon and Zoey.
Community Advocacy
Sue has enjoyed her active roles in the Ward 2 community. Sue’s involvement began many years ago as Vice Chair of the Park Royal Community Association. She has been on the board of the Meadow Wood Rattray Ratepayers Association for 20 years and President for over 10. Sue is also the Chair of the Mississauga Residents’ Association Network (MIRANET). Her participation provides extensive knowledge, expertise and experience towards various ongoing Ward 2 and City of Mississauga initiatives which are effecting our community.

Our Ward 2 Community needs Sue Shanly. She has a proven record of support, enthusiasm and dedication with an inspirational level of advocacy to ensure that our community has improvements and changes which are ALL beneficial to our community. Sue was acknowledged for her community service and high level of dedication with a Mississauga Civic Award of Recognition and the Peel District School Board award for over 10 years of Advocacy.
Sue has:
- Graduated from Ryerson University with a business degree
- Works in medical aesthetics and medical research
- Long-term knowledge of, and involvement in, Ward 2 issues
- Active and longstanding resident association member and President
- Experienced in navigating City Hall and its many committees
- Advocated for Mississauga on several provincial working groups
- Dedicated, caring, and hard-working
